The images in the above right section of this webpage are examples of some of the services my office provides in pediatric dentistry..
In the first four slides, intercept orthodontics with a retainer is being performed for a patient who has an anterior open bite.
In the next series of three slides, we see a labial frenectomy performed using a soft tissue laser. We do this procedure quite often especially when a significant labial or lingual frenum is diagnosed.
The next slide shows a patient who is in need of a gingivectomy using a soft tissue laser. The fixed orthodontics (braces) is not being performed by my office because of the patient's history of poor oral hygiene. However, the parent has agreed (as of this writing) to have the gingivectomy performed with laser dentistry.
The next two slides show the removal of a soft tissue growth called mucocoele and the subsequent two slides demonstrate a significant traumatic injury was repaired using porcelain fused to high noble metal crowns.
For a patient who has discolored or calico colored teeth, we recommend and perform porcelain veneers and in the next series of two slides, we show the restoration of an implant (which we do on a routine basis.)
Some of our patients unfortunately have teeth with large cavities that abscess. In the three slides, we see the resolution of an abscessed tooth.
The subsequent slide shows the workup we perform when we decide to proceed with fixed orthodontics (braces). Along with fixed orthodontics, we also perform expansion as we see in the slide.
Because the economy has not been favorable to all of us, an alternate method to replace missing teeth is to use a Monodent bridge in the following two slides.
Finally, the slide showing trauma is dear to my heart. This slide shows that I am here for my patients at all times. I can be reached, and when needed, I will perform the needed services to rectify the traumatic dental injury.
Dr. Bob was recommended as the best children's dentist in the area, and he is. He uses state of the art technology to provide fantastic care in a very child friendly environment. All the dentists' chairs are kid-sized. He is a huge railroad fan and the trains can run all the way around the exam room while your child is examined. Also, every seat has its own TV if your child would prefer to watch a show. His waiting room is so much fun it's hard to get kids to leave it. He is super friendly, too: he sends a children's book that he wrote about visiting the dentist before your child's first visit. He also cares for children with disabilities. Really, he is an amazing guy! You can tell he's been a Dad many times over. We also had great response from him when we had an emergency on a holiday weekend. He called back within the hour.
